Anna Tuer introduced our filly to the stalls environment for the first time and as you can see, she took it all within her stride.
Everybody thats seen our filly think she's a proper 2yo. One for the start of the season, she looks all speed, with a powerful backend.
Our filly continues to please everyone in the yard, she looks a real racy 2yo!
Grant is very happy with our filly stating she is the pick of his yearlings at this moment in time. She is very straight forward, has a great attitude and should be on the track at the start of the season.
The Yafta filly filly is being broken in by Grant's daughter Anna Tuer.
Anna tells me that this filly is her favourite though she likes all of them.
She is trotting away indoors and will start ridden outside at the weekend.
Anna describes her as having a very good attitude and a filly who is very laid back.
Our Yafta filly has settled in well at Grants and has been exercising in the lunge ring, she's physically very forward and only wants to please.
Nick travelled over to the Osarus September yearling sale with the simple gameplan of buying three fillies with the best "physicals" in the sale. This is a sale that is often left out by some of the big players despite regularly producing winners, breeze up consignors are often in town due to the low average prices and very good value for money. Chic Columbe was a horse picked up at last years sale for €10,000 who went on to be purchased privately by Highclere for a six figure sum, he looks thrown in off his nursery mark and could prove a high profile student of the Osarus sale.
Nick had great success in 2021 with the purchase of Mersea for just €5,000, she was again purchased on the basis of the best physical in the sale, Grant liked what he saw then taking a leg and he's repeated that decision with this filly.
Having paid just €16,000 she will qualify for band D races in 2024 which will make her life a whole lot easier when we are bidding to shed her maiden tag, Yafta was a strong 6f horse and this filly looks for every day of the week to be a similiar sort, with the dam winning over a mile as a 2yo they'd also be some hope this filly will improve as the season progresses.
She qualifies for French premiums should we need to travel over the channel, this is a route we love to go down with our early 2yo's or when chasing blacktype later in the season.
