Back in December 2023, Nick went to Tattersalls and purchased a filly foal by Lope Y Fernandez, out of a mare called She's Amazing.
Nick had a small list of fillies and had been very strict with his valuations but felt happy with this purchase for only 8,000 gns.
Having been keen to support the GB stallion, Lope Y Fernandez, his stock looked exceptional at the sales, with plenty of improvements to follow and crucially all the right people have them. As the name would suggest, he’s by all conquering Lope De Vega but he more than made a name for himself, winning a group race over 6f as a two-year-old before huge placed efforts in Group one races such as the Irish 2000 Guineas, Prix Jean Prat, Maurice De Gheest and later the Breeders’ cup mile.
This foal was out of a Showcasing mare which was a major plus for us when we were putting her case together. Lope De Vega x Showcasing is a cross that happened only one, producing Khatwah who ran to a peak RPR of 99, he improved with age and for a trip of around a mile after crucially been campaigned over an inadequate trip for most of her career.
Being 100% GBB qualified which was another feather in her cap for when the yearling sales came around or if we retained her to race.
Having been prepped at Glebe Farm our ever-growing bloodstock team, our pre trainers have commented on just how well our home breds have shaped up on they've arrived, again the breaths confidence into the idea.
We were delighted with such a fantastic result on our first foal syndicate, when the filly reached 45,000 gns at Tattersalls Book 2 Sale.
A huge thank you to our brilliant team at home, who did an excellent job her with, along with the team at Consign Ltd who took the filly through the ring!

Nick will be heading back to the foal sales this winter, in the search for more stars like our 2023 Lope Y Fernandez x She's Amazing.
We will be purchasing foals, with the intention of pinhooking (re-selling as a yearling) or retain and eventually race.
All foals - yearling prep will happen at our farm, 'Glebe Farm, Goxhill'. Where you are more than welcome to visit at any stage and you will also receive regular updates with the foals progress.
Costs do depend on the purchase price, however it will include everything from the point of purchase onwards until 1st March 2025, should we chose to retain and race it in the Nick Bradley Racing Silks.
That will entail all vet bills, certificates and the breaking in process.
