This filly has started her education well and George Chaloner is extremely happy with her.
He see's her as a filly that will start over seven furlongs which comes as no surprise but he's very impressed with her presence and the way she moves around the yard.
She certainly has something about her and she's a horse we can be excited about in 2025.
Come to the back end of 2025, we are going to have several valuable options for this filly and we'll have a great chance of returning on the small investment that she was, being just a 12,000gns yearling purchase.
The Great British Bonus are extending their programme in 2025 to support the breeding and racing of middle distance fillies. With Time Test's progeny qualifying for this incentive, our filly will be able to race for an additional £20,000 per class 2-4 race on top of the ordinary £20,000 bonus for winning a fillies race. You have the Juddmonte mile race at Ripon, in late August that stands out to me as that's for band C & D animals only and is worth £30,000 without any subsequent bonuses... £££
Its not just maidens and novices that will be supported, as nurseries over eight furlongs will also qualify for the £20,000 bonus for any winning fillies... music to our ears!
Given Time Test won over twelve furlongs, this filly will also qualify for the future stayers series of races which are only open to a small number of horses as a two year old. Just this week, we saw 66 rated Many Men come home in front of a field of just six to collect his shares of the £50,000 prize money, another target to aim for!
Brian Ellison's wonderful 2024 continued this week with Onesmoothoperator winning a group three handicap in Australia, the Geelong Cup worth over £260k in prize money.
That win now guarantees the horse a chance to run in the £4.5million Melbourne Cup and Brian thinks he has a big chance of running a huge race.
Brian is no stranger to taking a horse down under, Carte Diamond ran very well in the Caulfield Cup and was one of the market leaders for the race that stops the nation before a freak accident two days before the race saw him scratched.
Just like our other yearling that is heading to Brian Ellison, with have a clear plan and objective with this daughter of Time Test.
Whilst the other filly is all speed, this filly will take a little longer and she is a longer term product for the second half of the season.
The new GBB extra initiative rewards owners to the sum of £40,000 should we be able to win a qualifying race over a mile or longer.
There are several valuable restricted races that will qualifying as they are class two events and that's what we will be aiming to win.
Time Test was a multiple group winner over a mile pus around the world and he is the perfect sire for Nick Bradley Racing whereby he isn't fashionable but he can produce good quality horses. He has produced several group winners and this year was responsible for Marygate winner, Betty Clover despite a very small crop.
This filly received a boost to her pedigree recently when her half brother, Angel Hunter won the 7f nursery at York's Ebor meeting off a mark of 83. The handicapper has since revised his mark to 90 and that could still underestimate him given he faced 16 rivals on the Knavesmire and managed to get up despite her poor draw and track position.
He is prominent in the antepost market for the Listed Ascendant stakes this coming weekend.
Nick often finds that when a mare produces a good foal, her follow up produce is often very good and this is an angle that we have benefitted from previously. Most notably with Fev Rover, her brother Spendlid Living came out and ran well around the time of her purchase which gave us some confidence behind her.
Brian has won four 2yo races so far this year from just nineteen runners (six horses) giving him a 21% strike rate, which puts him in the top ten stats for trainers with four winners or more in the UK!
Both Brian and Nick will be retaining a 25% share in the filly such is her good value.
