TERRITORIES X CITY DAZZLER

This filly first came onto our radar at the Tattersalls Somerville yearling sale in September 2024, making Nick’s shortlist after two showings. With many sales ahead, we didn’t follow her into the ring but after seeing what she sold for, it was potentially one that we should have bought, and we probably would have either later in the sales season, or if Nick had more faith in the pedigree.

She was bought by Edward Smyth Osborne, who is based in Lambourn and is the former assistant to Michael Bell. Edward also spent some time down under, working for Australian powerhouses, Gai Waterhouse and Chris Waller. He has also worked for the likes of Mark Johnston, Henry Candy and Chris Grassick and William Muir In Britain.

Edward has been pretty sweet on this filly since around the middle of January, and he’s given her an entry in the £100k Tattersalls Somerville Sales race which is ran over 6f in August. Her low price tag will ensure she carries very little weight if she were to line up in the race, with her band D price tag also having huge benefits, when we are plotting her early season targets. We shouldn’t forget that she is 100% GBB registered which would rewards owners with a £20,000 bonus, should she win a fillies maiden or novice.

Pierre Louis Jamin went in to ride her earlier in the week and he loved her, picking up the phone straight after he sat on her and reporting that she’ll definitely be winning races as a two year old. Pierre mainly rides out at Karl Burke’s, so he sits on plenty of nice juveniles!
