Our Showcasing filly can be seen in second, she has settled into life at Andrews well and the team are very happy with her.
She could be a little sharper than her pedigree would elude to.
Our Showcasing filly is now ridden around the yard, George reports theres a bit of class behind everything that she does
We are very keen to send some more fillies to Kingsclere this season and hopefully we can build on the good relationship we have with the team.
It's an impressive facility and all of our owners that have been down have commented on the positive experience of having a horse with the yard.
We've had to be patient with our two 3yo's we have with Andrew but Sun Dancer Girl has now won three of her last four starts and she will be aimed at the valuable ARC AW bonus that runs throughout the winter.
We felt we would look to recruit some stronger pedigrees for the yard to train, consistently they produce plenty of winners especially with their 2yo's, just last week they won the Gimcrack with Cool Hand Luke.
This filly is an excellent model, she has a real purpose about her walk and she was one of the more "classy" fillies to step into the ring, so much so that we felt she would be beyond our budget.
The mare was a winner on three occasions over twelve furlongs but she did have enough speed to finish second on debut over seven furlongs as a two year old. She is from a very smart family owned by Sir Robert Ogden and is in fact a half sister to multiple group winner, Amazing Maria. Those group victories included two in group one company in both the Falmouth and Prix Rothschild.
Despite being a first foal, she is exceptionally well put together, she looks a strong sort and everything is where it's supposed to be.
After being a €56,000 foal we expected her to make £60,000 plus but her purchase price of 36,000gns gives us the opportunity to start her off in restricted races when she hits the track.
This time last year we purchased a Showcasing filly from this exact sale, she went on to win on her debut before being sold to race in America for a six figure fee!
We will be hoping history can repeat itself this time around and we can source another smart filly by the Whitsbury stallion.
Showcasing was an impressive two year old, with all of his starts coming over six furlongs.
After landing a novice, he was an impressive winner of the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes at York before being beaten just under a length in the Group One Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on his final start as a juvenile.
He reappeared as a 3yo in Group Two company again on the Knavesmire where he was beaten half a length before two sub standard starts saw him retired to stud. In his time, he was produced more than 133 stakes winners and a remarkable 11% of the horses that have made the track have ran in stakes races. He is renowned for producing quality mares and even stallions with seven sons currently standing as sires.
