 An exciting new recruit from Godolphin's draft at the Tattersalls HIT sale.

Romieu was purchased for 18,000gns and we had a few more bids in the back pocket should they have been required.

We went into the sale looking to add to our team of Saturday horses for 2025 without breaking the bank and we've hit the target with this acquisition. 

He's an absolutely outstanding physical specimen, a gorgeous animal with an authoritive walk, a real stand out.

That can probably be expected given him pedigree, by Lope De Vega out of a group two winning mare in Beautiful Romance.

Beautiful Romance improved with age and a trip, her final start saw her beaten just a neck in the group two Dubai Gold Cup over two miles and thats the profile we have for this lightly raced gelding.

We believe he wants a step up in trip, something that we will roll out next season with him probably starting over the mile in something like the Lincoln handicap on soft ground which should well suit based on his page and two past runs.

A winner on debut at Compeigne on the 31st May 2024.

He then finished 2nd on his next start behind Suchet.
