This filly was purchased by Oliver St Lawrence for £75,000 at the Goffs Premier Yearling Sales.
The purchase of this filly wasn't straightforward and needs some explaining. This filly was one of 180 yearling fillies on offer at the Goffs August Yearling Sales. She was a filly that Nick felt was in the top 5 physicals on offer at the sale.
Nick bid on this filly with the intention of purchasing it with Karl Burke however ran out of bids at £60,000. The bidding continued to £75,000 where the hammer came down in Oliver St Lawrence's favour. Oliver had two clients who both wanted the filly Fawzi Nass and Steve Burdett who is the owner of the Phil Makin yard. The two owners decided to spin a coin to see who got the filly and it came down in favour of Steve Burdett.
Steve is a client of Nick Bradley Racing and later in the day Steve offered Nick Bradley Racing the opportunity to purchase a 25% share in the filly if we would like. Nick agreed to the purchase the following day.
This filly is extraordinarily strong and was probably the most precocious filly on offer at the sales. Based on Nick's viewings he felt that this was one of the nicest horses in the sale. She is very strong and moves well with it, she looks an out and out sprinter.
In Nick's opinion, Oliver St Lawrence is one of the better agents currently in practice and he tends to focus on the very best horses on offer as he has clients with big budgets. At £75,000 this filly cost more than Nick wanted to pay but she may prove to be excellent value by the end of the sales season and even more so this time next year.
We expect her to be on the track in May and starting off over 5 furlongs. Her first target has to be races like the Listed, Marygate and the Group 2, Queen Mary at Royal Ascot.
