LOPE Y FERNANDEZ X CORNLAW

This filly was a stand out physical and a real eye catching mover and had she have had a stronger pedigree she would have fetched plenty more! Everybody was on her who looks to target those restricted maidens in the North and we were glad to go into partnership with Michael & David Easterby. They have had four 2yo winners so far this season from a very small number of horses with almost all of those being moderately priced. 

She is out of a mare that we have at Glebe Farm and going into the sale we felt she was a nice physical who fits the model that we want to follow at NBR, excellent physicals with an unfashionable pedigree. This filly is the best horse to come out of the mare and Nick felt she was the 2nd best produce of lope Y Fernandez at the sale with the best reaching 80,00gns!

The dam, Cornlaw is by Lawman and his mares have an excellent record when crossing with Lope De Vega, the sire of Lope Y Fernandez.

That cross has been responsible for over £400k in UK prize money with horses like Elegancia (RPR98),  Epic Poet (RPR 104), Haqeeqy (RPR 114), Indemnify (RPR 96),  La Filomena (RPR 94),  Power Of The States (RPR 106), Ship Of Dreams (RPR 104), All hailing from those bloodlines.

Nick has a strong interest in Lope Y Fernandez stock and we aim to have the very best of his produce racing in our colours in 2025!

We don't expect her to be mega early but she is all there, has excellent conformation and she is another band D filly to look forward to for next season. The fixture book is increasingly kind to horses that can feature in restricted races with a long list of novices now carrying £30,000 in prize money and on some occasions £40,000!
