Lightning Spear filly in fourth, all is well and she is coming along nicely.
It's not hard to spot why we were so keen on her at the sales!
Ollie has stated she has a lovely attitude and is very straightforward
Ollie reports our filly is now been ridden away with no issue.
After being the Underbidder on plenty of lots in the first two and a half days of book 2, our patience was rewarded when we purchased a fantastic looking Lightning spear filly with the page to match.
Lightning Spear has enjoyed a prosperous start as a sire of a tiny crop, he boasts a 63% win rate to runners. He was the champion miler and just like many other sons of pivotal, he progressed with age, winning the Sussex Stakes as 7yo.
Only 25 of his yearlings have passed through the ring before this week so his record of producing a stakes horse can be excused but we have a real chance here with a fantastic page to run alongside her terrific physical attributes.
The dam was a multiple stakes winner over a mile as a 3yo and she quite clearly has the ability to pass on her genes, producing 4 graded/group winners to date.
Military Law ranks the best of these after recording an overall rating of 112, finishing 2nd in a G1 at Meydan.
All nine products of Marine Bleue that have made it onto the track have managed to win a race with 70% of them recording an RPR of over 90!
This filly looks every bit as good as her siblings, she won’t be early, one for the second half of the season with the 3yo campaign in the back of our minds. She will carry a strong residual value after racing with her page as strong as it is and should she be able to gain some blacktype, she would be worth a considerable amount as a broodmare.
She is 100% GBB registered which is a great initiative to top up our prize money, this can be won on 3 occasions meaning the total bonus is £60k!
She’ll join Ollie Sangster who bought really well from this sale last year and is probably the newcomer of the season in the training ranks.
Shuwari and Per Contra would be two similar types he has done well with this season, starting at 7f with the mile very much within their reach.
Ollie has taken a 25% share in the filly as well as Nick himself, the biggest share he has retained so far this sales season.
