In third on the video below, our filly is doing everything asked of her so far and we look forward to stepping up her work early in 2025.
Our Inns of Court filly is well and Grant's team are happy with her.
She's currently cantering around the round gallop, doing everything asked of her easily.
This filly was bred at Glebe Farm and the girls absolutely loved her right throughout her early education. They where equally as bold with their opinion of Princess Alex who is the half sister and she has won three races to date, earnings over £50,000 including bonuses and peaking with an official rating of 87. She did finish 6th in a listed race on ground that was too quick for her which was a very good effort and on softer ground, we could have had a half to a blacktype animal.
Nick was very keen to retain this filly, he also loved her from the start and in his opinion, she is a much better physical model than Princess Alex but she was never going to make big money as she is by Inns of Court who is a more than capable sire but is no longer fashionable, perfect for us!
Inns Of Court is a more than capable sire and he already has a few stakes winners to his name with the likes of with The Strikin Viking, Anshoda and Megarry to name but a few.
We had lots of trainers on her in the ring and we were happy to partner up with whoever valued her the most, they included Grant Tuer, Alice Haynes, Ed Bethell, James Horton and Michael Dods, with Grant going to 20,000gns. At the time of writing, that makes her the most expensive filly on day two of Book Three so that goes some way in advising just how good of a physical model she is.
She comes from a strong fillies family, the mare Alexandrite was a winner in France and she is by Oasis Dream, who is an extraordinary dam sire having been responsible for animals such as Audience, Iresine, Big Evs and Sioux Nation. Alexandrite is from an excellent Juddmonte family, she is the half sister to several blacktype animals including Epicuris, Indeed and Austere who was beaten just two lengths in last season’s juvenile fillies turf at the Breeders cup.
Alexandrite has produced two horses prior to this filly and they have won nine races between them and we strongly expect this filly to add to that excellent record.
We should see this filly out over six furlongs around June and she qualifies for the two Tattersalls sales races worth 100/150k which are both ran at Newmarket in August and October over six furlongs which are two lucrative targets for the latter end of the season.
Again, she qualifies for band “c” maidens and novices, a common angle we have pursued across all of our yearling purchases to date. These give us the best chance to get off to a winning start and get some prize money in the bank before setting our bar a little higher. As we have advertised many times previously, the number of these races just keeps increasing and so do the £30-£40k restricted races where almost half of them are fillies only events.
Grant Tuer has done a great job with so many of our fillies over the last few years, Sophia’s Starlight, Glorious Angel and Love Talk to name but a few. He is a big fan of this filly, he had a few more bids in the back pocket should they have been required. She will go straight to Grant to be broken in by his daughter Anna who has returned from a spell over in Ireland where she gained some vital experience at some of the leading Irish yards.
