This filly was purchased by Nick Bradley and Richard Fahey at the Goffs Doncaster Premier yearling Sales on 28th August 2019.

Pedigree

She is the third produce of the HIGH CHAPARRAL mare LAURELITA. The first foal out of LAURELITA was exported to Slovakia where it won at Listed level and was 3rd in the Slovakian Derby which is a race that carries 50,000 Euros in prize money. The second foal out of the mare is named BILL THE BUTCHER who has ran once to date at Windsor and caught the eye of Hugh Taylor who assists Nick in sourcing bloodstock. BILL THE BUTCHER showed good early speed after a poor start before being very green off the bridle. He holds Group 1 Middle Park and Group 2 Mill Reef entries and we think will go on to show that he is a 90 plus horse before the end of the season.

GUTAIFAN has had a good start at stud recording numerous 2yo winners and at the time of writing he is 5th on the standings for the number of 2yo winners behind NONAYNEVER, KODIAC, DANDY MAN and DARK ANGEL.

In terms of trip, we would expect her to be a filly who would start overt 6 furlongs in May and could progress to run at trips around a mile.

Physical

This filly is a strong, tall filly who resembles her dam sire, HIGH CHAPARRAL more than her sire. She has a good honest head and has the physical make up of a filly we had as a 2yo in year 1 of Nick Bradley Racing called DAINTY DANDY. She is a scopey filly who covers plenty of ground and who is strong of limb.

She made both Nick and Richard's shortlist and Richard described her as a good goer, racy 2yo who was a shade long of her pasterns (bone between the fetlock and the hoof).

Scope

This filly was scoped by Peter Hynes of Yorkshire Equine Practice who graded the throat as a Grade 1 and described it as the biggest throat he had scoped on the day (image above).
