Ardad ex Anbaa - GT
She should be fast and early, but we've been held up in November with a curb behind. This has settled well and hasn't been a problem since. She is progressing well now and catching the others up. Planning an April debut, 5f.
Grant is very happy with our Ardad filly, he has already entered her for the Goffs sales race on what he has seen to date.
He believes she's going to be rapid from the early words from her riders.
We have taken things steady with our Ardad filly after she was suffering with a curb not long after arriving at Grants.
This is similar to a human suffering with a sprain/strain and shouldn't be something that affects her long term.
She was laid on today and should be broken in by the end of December and ridden throughout January.
Your filly is being broken in by Grant's daughter Anna Tuer.
Anna likes all of the yearlings we have sent to the Tuer yard to date.
She is currently being lunged everyday on two lines. This is where you have two lines attached to the bit in the mouth. One line goes around the hind quarters of the horse and the second through the stirrup on the nearside.
Next week she will be long reined around the yard where she will be taught to turn left and right, start and stop.
She will be ridden in her stable and then in an indoor ring through the middle of November and should be on the outdoor gallop just before our Open Day.
Our first purchase of day 2 was this outstanding looking Ardad filly, she was a real eye catcher in the ring and we were thrilled to add her to our roster. Ardad has been a real success story as a stallion with his cover fee now over triple what he commanded back in 2021. The filly qualifies for 100% GBB so we will have great pleasure in plotting here route in 2024!
Anbaa the mare, by Lope De Vega went off favourite on debut in a race won by an eventual blacktype filly. Anbaa was injured on her second start and retired to be a broodmare, her first foal was sold to race in Italy but was a little on the small side, Chico Losco has won as a 3yo. The Ardad X Lope De Vega cross has only been done once previously in the UK and that resulted in the very talented Richard Fahey 2yo, Silent Move.... A bit more of the same please!
