Heading into the Tattersalls Guineas breeze up sale, we planned to target the best fillies that fit our model and we were delighted to purchase this A’Ali filly from Foxley Stables for 55,000gns.
The Guineas sale is often “the” sale for value, every year the sale throws up several stakes performers for a fraction of the price that prior breeze up sales command, indeed group three winner, Anshoda was purchase for just 5,000gns at last years sale.
Ahead of the two furlong breeze on Wednesday, this filly was already firmly on our radar, we are huge fans of the first season sire, A’Ali, who’s progeny appear to have inherited his speed!
Indeed our very own Ali Shuffle is the stallions leading light, she is currently two from two, the only two year old in the country to achieve that feat so far and the form of her wins is being boosted week by week, non more so than yesterday when Argentine Tango picked up a Pontefract maiden.
Ali Shuffle will step up in grade in the coming weeks with races like the Lily Agnes, Marygate and potentially Royal Ascot on the horizon!
Today’s purchase has almost identical bloodlines, Ali Shuffle is out of an Oasis Dream mare, whilst todays purchase is out of a Muhaarar mare, Muhaarar been a son of Oasis Dream.
That’s not where the similarities end, this filly was exemplary on both occasion we pulled her out, she has a terrific head on her, something that was also evident during her breeze, where she showed a tremendous attitude, head down, trying all the way through the gallop.
She looks all speed and she will be ready to rock in the coming weeks, Oliver St.Lawrence was quick to congratulate us after the hammer went down, he has talented family member, Al Raya at his stud and he was keen to point out the similarities between our filly and the group three winning sprinter.
Having seen her breeze, we knew she had clocked and in truth we did concede that we may be priced out of the equation but we were delighted to pick her up for just about our limit, with us keen to remain in band “B” money to ensure we have plenty of maiden options at the start of her career.
She clocked the 9th fastest time of the entire sale, which puts her in the top 5% of the 172 horses in the catalogued!
We fully expect she’ll hit the ground running, picking up an Irish incentive maiden which rewards owners with a €10,000 bonus before stepping into stakes company in June.
The National Stakes at Sandown is firmly on list of possibilities and ultimately the Queen Mary at Ascot being the main aim with this filly.
