A'ALI X HOOPMALASSIE

  We have purchased a fourth filly from the Goffs Doncaster breeze up, with this A’Ali filly being purchased privately a day after the sale.

Again, we first saw this filly on our recent travels, both Nick and Sam very much liked what they saw in Ireland and she gave Sam a great feel but he felt she would be a filly for the second half of the season, she had a real good way of going and a huge stride length. 

Nick actually saw her work against an Ardad filly who was well regarded and she beat her by over twelve lengths!

On review of the trip, he ranked this filly 4th of the 35 he sat on and we were very close to making an offer, with the vendor valuing her around £80,000, however we decided to hold back on the understanding that the Goffs breeze up probably wasn’t tailormade for her and we may be able to pinch her on the day of the sale as she would be lining up against more precocious horses who were built for a speed test.

She’s a big filly, one you’d expect to start over 7f with the mile being well within her scope by the end of her two year old career. Given the fact she is 100% Great British Bonus registered, this filly is the perfect candidate for the GBB+ scheme which rewards fillies that win over a mile plus. Alongside the standard £20,000 bonus for winning a fillies race, you can also target two year old nurseries over a mile or further which are worth an addition £20,000. 

As a three year old, the plus scheme also rewards victories in races over ten furlongs or further for another £20,000. This is a scheme we are very keen to support and this can reward owners with a huge return which has to be welcomed at a time where prize money can be criticised.

Looking at her breeze, she recorded the 64th quickest time on the day which puts her within the top 30% of all the horses which came down the Town Moor.  Given we expect she wants a mile, that’s a very eye catching time in a sale that would be dominated by horses with quicker pedigrees. 

We have had great success so far with progeny of A'Ali, Ali Shuffle looks bound for stakes company moving forward having won her first two starts and collecting £40,000 in Great British Bonuses.

This filly looks perfect for Ralph Beckett, he has a plethora of back end 2yo’s that roll into their three year old season with unlimited amount of improvement and we were over the moon when it was confirmed that she would be heading to Ralph.

We have tried on numerous occasions to get horses into Ralph’s yard but he isn’t taking any new owners at this moment in time, but the vendor of the filly was very keen that Ralph should train her so he’s “pulled a few strings”.

You name a group one and Ralph has won it, the yard continue to go from strength to strength and we can’t wait to be apart of that progression.
