We recently asked our owners who they'd like us to add to our training ranks for the 2025 season and we were delighted to see so many of you suggest the newly formed partnership of Dr. Richard Newland & Jamie Insole who we already had on our radar. A dual purpose yard by trade, Jamie Insole is the main driving force behind the flat element of the impressive facility at Urloxhey. He has an impressive CV, being the assistant to Charlie Hills for a very successful period where he oversaw the likes of group one winners, Battaash, Phoenix of Spain and Khaadem. Its no suprise they have started well, they added Dan Abraham as director of racing as well as appointing Matt Houldsworth as bloodstock manager. The later has a strong reputation in the bloodstock game, he joined forces with Nick at the 2019 Goffs Premier Yearling sale to find multiple group winner, Fev Rover.
Since combining, the yard have enjoyed a 20% success rate with their national hunt arm as well as a 12% strike rate with their small team of flat horses. That has included four wins with their 2yo's from just 45 runners with a squad of modestly bought animals. They have even sent horses to France which is an angle Nick likes to employ and Bouvier should have won the 40k Glorious Goodwood maiden so they are more than capable of punching above their weight.
They aim to strengthen their numbers for the 2025 campaign with both quantity and quality being added. This has allowed us to take ownership of this filly for a relatively small stake which we are very thankful for and we are delighted to support the yard as they look to take things to the next level.
We where actually offered three yearling fillies from Matt Houldsworth but this filly was our pick based on our physical assessment at Doncaster and she just happened to be the cheapest!
She's a strong, flashy chesnut who made Nick's original list but we left her allowed when we discovered her reserve was north of 20,000gns.
Having agreed a private price tag of just 15,000gns, she'll again be eligible for band D races when she comes to hit the track next season.
She is out of a dam who cost 170,000gns as foal and has produced one useful animal to date.
Ten Deep ran in two deep Curragh maidens which were both won by Coolmore horses who would go onto be group winners.
She was then sold to race in Australia and she has won her last two starts including a valuable open handicap over seven furlongs.
There's a strong back page with the second dam, Jessica's Dream being a dual group winner over five furlongs in Europe and she's produced horses such as Havana Gold!
The sire, Space Blues is a first season sire who stands for £16,000.
Like every year, there's always a sense of excitement behind the stock of first season sires and it gives buyers the opportunity to buy into their produce before they potentially become out of reach commercially.
A three time group one winner on a variety of ground, I feel he could well prove tremendous value this time next year at his current standing price.
This filly gives our owners an opportunity to invest in both the stallion and the yard at a very exciting time.
I expect both to succeed, as i do this filly.
