She has been impressing in her work and Kevin believes she has shown enough already to win a maiden.
We will be ready to run from the 1st June onwards and are likely to start off over 6f.
Ive included some maidens below that we will be monitoring:
6th June - Chelmsford 6f Band D
7th June - Bath 6f Band C&D
10th June - Carlisle 6f Fillies only C&D
11th June - Wetherby 5.5f Band C&D
Our filly is working with Rosie Royce every week. Kevin describes her as a very nice physical who will get started on the track in the second half of May over 6 furlongs.
He tells me she will make into a nice filly over 7 or 8 furlongs. He thinks that she will win a CD Maiden/Novice and will improve alot as the season progresses.
Kevin is very happy with her, she is improving all of the time and looking like a filly we can expect to see on the track in May.
At the moment I get the impression she is going to be well above average.
The filly is in very good shape, she is strengthening all the time and is looking very well. She is probably on the same time scale as the Dutch Art filly which is extremely positive, we will keep her cantering for the next fortnight before stepping her work up.
She was never going to be early but Kevin's happy with where she is at albeit he hasn't pressed too many buttons
Our Bated Breath filly is in third of the final trio.
Our first purchase from the Arqana yearling sale was lot 315, a Bated Breath filly who will join Kevin Philippart de Foy.
We had a list of 8 fillies on the day, neither were by fashionable sires but majority of them still made plenty, certainly more than we had in the pocket for them.
This filly came along towards the end of the day when things had started to slow down a touch and we felt we would be able to do business.
She had a very good action, looking like she'll be a very quick filly, albeit she was a little light after being poorly prepped for the sale by the French vendor.
By Bated Breath, you’d expect her only to improve between 2 and 3 so there’s plenty of scope for her to improve with her racing just as so many of Kevin’s 2yo’s do.
The Bated Breath x Oasis Dream nicks has been very productive in the past, we’ve also a large sample size to refer to due to the Juddmonte connections. 15 out of 23 crosses have been successful with Daahyeh, Could Be King and Bipartisanship all winning group races.
We had another Bated Breath filly on the list and she made €55,000 and our filly was just as good as that one so we were thrilled to only have to go to €20,000.
Because of her price tag, she’ll be able to start of in Band D maidens which can only increase her chances of landing a maiden before hopefully stepping into deeper waters.
Kevin loved the filly and he’s taken a 25% share, just as he did with Maymay at this sale. Like Maymay she’ll qualify for french premiums which are a top up on prize money should she feature in any french races.
We'd expect to see her one the track sometime in June, over 6f with 7f possible within reach before the season is out and as she progresses into her 3yo season.
