We are pleased to announce we have agreed to purchase a 50% share in an Advertise filly who was sold at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up sale.
She was on our original list at the sale, which says something given we only had half a dozen on there due to the amount of fillies catalogued!
We decided against getting involved in the ring initially, she was early into the ring and given we only wanted to add one, maybe two horses, we opted to save our bids for later in the day, unfortunately those opportunities didn't materialise and we were left to regret our decision.
Stuart William purchased the horse for just 8,000gns, having spoken to Stuart since, he had plenty more bids in his pocket, he was buying the filly on her potential rather than what she produced during her breeze, which was still fairly useful!
Stuart trained her half brother, an expensive purchase who suffered a tragic accident which prevented him getting on the racetrack. Stuart went on to add that he was extremely talented and had some an excellent temperament and a high level of ability at home. That doesn’t come as a total shock looking at the page, the dam was a very talented 2yo for Clive Cox. By Kodiac, she won her novice before finishing sixth in the Queen Mary, later going onto finish fourth in a listed race as well as third in the G3 Prix D’Arenberg, a race we will be aiming this filly at.
The mare has produced one foal that’s managed to make the track, a horse called Watchya who has tons of speed and managed to be beaten just over a length in a listed race and peaking at an overall rating of 95.
This filly is also all speed and she will be on the track in the next couple of weeks.
We can also gain some further confidence with the Advertise x Kodiac “nick”, just the one product has produced maiden winner, Staincliff.
Stuart Williams is an outstanding trainer of a sprinter, Pandora's GIft looks another fine example of that opinion, she was a comprehensive winner of the listed Chelmer Stakes this weekend.
Looking at her breeze, she recorded the 103rd overall time, clocking the 34th fastest gallop out during her effort.
We can upgrade her finishing position in the “race”, she was already past the timing camera’s when the inexperienced jockey asked her for any effort, which was just a gentle flick of the pro cush.
The filly had her ears pricked throughout, especially late on into the breeze, another sign that there’s plenty more to come.
We also believe she is certain to improve for some better ground, just like the rest of her family. The course where reporting good to soft ground for the breeze ups, which wouldn't have suited our filly.
We’ve spoken to the vendor, who is inexperienced, another potential angle to explore, just like we did with Innishannon Valley when purchasing Marshman.
They explained that their Mehmas filly who made 12,000gns was their third best and they couldn’t split this Advertise filly and their Zoustar filly, who went onto record the 6th quickest overall time before being withdrawn on the morning of the sale due to a serious injury!
We'll be aiming at picking up an IRE incentive maiden which will reward us with €10,000, more than her purchase price!
This looks another "no brainer" at the right price, low risk and potentially very high rewards!
