Our second purchase of the Tattersalls HIT sale was a 2yo filly, Ninety Nine who is out of Group 3 placed, Red Balloons for just 13,000 gns.

She is a tough filly we see taking her racing well over the winter months and expect her to have a busy campaign over the next 5 months. 

After winning her maiden at Hamilton beating Bellarchi now rated 85 at the time of writing, she didn't see out the trip over 6f on soft ground at Thirsk and returned from a small break to be beaten just a length by Je Na Sais Quoi who was also high on our shortlist and we bought later in the sale.

Given her rating of 71, we can start her off in a much lower grade to that race and hopefully start a successful all weather campaign. She is lightly raced and we see no issues with the switch to all weather surfaces. Whilst her options this side of Christmas are fairly limited, the plan is to have her spot on for January when more options present themselves, just like Glorious Angel last year.

Just like Glorious Angel, Hugh Taylor flagged her up after she had shown some strong speed figures within her races.

Hugh also flagged up Evening Story who began life at Grant Tuer's in red hot form as we expected, running out a comfortable winner and being raised 7lb for doing so!
