Expert Eye x Shaloushka

Our second purchase of the day was an Expert Eye filly who looks every bit of a shrewd purchase at just £15,000.

Expert Eye hasn’t hit the heights expected of him as a sire however he is more than capable of producing very good race horses.

The winner of the G2 Qatar Vintage stakes himself as a 2yo, he went on to win both G3 Jersey Stakes and City of York stakes before finishing with a G1 success in the Breeders Cup Mile.

He has intact enjoyed his best season as a sire with this seasons 2yo’s, both Snellen and Juniper Berries are stakes winners from a relatively small crop.

The dam, Shaloushka was a winner on her debut as a 3yo and has produced one foal that has made the track so far. That was multiple group race winner, Royal Patronage who won the Acomb and Royal Lodge as a 2yo before finishing 2nd in the Dante as a 3yo.

Expert Eye on a Dalakhani mare is a proven cross with a 100% SR producing Crystallium who is rated 90 and Royal Cay who won a Beverley handicap with an RPR of 75.

We’d expect this filly to be out in the middle of the season over 7f before developing into a classy miler that her page would suggest.

Again this filly is 100% GBB registered and should we win a qualifying race, we will cover the bulk of her purchase price.

Ed Dunlop is another who is enjoying a fine season with his 2yo’s, with a 14% SR.

Ed has retained a 50% share in the filly, he was buying her with or without us.
