Unique Cut was bought by Nick Bradley and Alice Haynes at the Tattersalls October HIT Sale for 35,000 Guineas.

Nick works very closely with Hugh Taylor when considering all things on the All weather and the pair had looked closely at the All Weather Championships from 2021 and decided to target the 7 furlong Fillies and Mares race for 4yo plus which carries £150,000 in prize money.

The 2021 Fillies and Mares race attracted a field of just 6 fillies and was won by the 78 rated Pholas who picked up £38.655 in the process. This was by far the weakest of the All Weather Finals races and therefore the one which Nick and Hugh Taylor were keen to target in 2022.

There are also a series of valuable Fillies only races leading up to the Finals Day which are each worth between £10,000 and £20,000. Looking at previous years renewals they are always lowly subscribed and in 2021 the 7 races attracted a grand total of 40 runners combined.

Unique Cut has ran three times to date. On debut she finished 3rd at Salisbury under a creative Silvestre de Sousa ride. She then won at Salisbury on her second start. The run which really caught our eye and impressed us was however her third start where she took on Dubai Hope in the early pace duel and saw out the race far better than the Invincible Spirit colt who has since won her next two starts and achieved a rating of 87. The race that day was won by Old Flame, who won easily on her next start at Catterick and was then sent off the 9/2 favourite at Newbury in a 18 runner handicap off 88 having found the heavy ground against him.

Unique Cut will be aimed at the Fillies only races through the Winter over trips around 7 furlongs with the aim of getting her to Newcastle for the £150,000 race with a very good chance of picking up the pot.

She joins Alice Haynes who has impressed Nick in the last four months with 2yo debutant winners, older horses running well and then she improved Mr Professor to win at Listed level as a 2yo.

MYSTERY ANGEL made it 2 wins from just 3 starts in the valuable ‘Jersey Lily’ Fillies’ Nursery Handicap at Newmarket on Saturday.

The daughter of Kodi Bear, who cost 22,000 GNS at the Tattersalls Breeze Up Sale, gave her trainer George Boughey his first success at his local course. Jockey David Probert managed to bag the favourable stand-side rail and never saw another rival to win by a comfortable one a half-lengths to secure the first prize of £24,900 for connections.

MYSTERY ANGEL has improved with every run this season and looks set for a step up to Listed class before the end of the season.

The BHA’s official handicapper announced on Tuesday that FEV ROVER is now the joint top rated 2yo filly in the country with a rating of 108.

Nick Bradley Racing’s winning team of 2yo fillies are also top of the class this season when compared with their year group (colts and filles) and relatives:

FEV ROVER (108) is the top rated 2YO (colt or filly) by her sire GUTAIFAN

DANDALLA (106) is the top rated 2YO (colt or filly) by her sire DANDY MAN

FURLONG FACTOR is the 2nd top rated 2YO filly by ADAAY

FEV ROVER is also the top rated 2YO filly at Richard Fahey’s yard. She is also the second rated 2YO overall, with only the 110 rated colt Rhythm Master ahead of her.

DANDALLA – is the top rated 2YO (filly or colt) at Karl Burke’s yard.

FURLONG FACTOR (82) – is the top rated 2YO (filly or colt) at Rod Millman’s yard.

Further evidence that when it comes to identifying the absolute best value bloodstock available, there is nobody better than Nick Bradley.

CLAREYBLUE STROLLS TO VICTORY AT LINGFIELD

ZIHAAM recorded his third win of the season at Beverley on Wednesday, his fifth in total.

Ridden to perfection by Ben Curtis, who was tasting victory for the first time since returning from his Covid ban, the Roger Fell trained 6yo hit the front 1 furlong out and held on determinedly.

This was probably a career best performance from Zihaam off a BHA mark of 73. Timeform gave him a figure of 84 and reported that he is "better than ever at the age of 6".

There are no more suitable races for him at Beverley this season and so it's probably Pontefract next for team ZIHAAM.

CLAREYBLUE STROLLS TO VICTORY AT LINGFIELD

CLAREYBLUE recorded his second career victory in effortless fashion at Lingfield on Monday. The Martyn Meade trained three year old was always travelling like the winner under Rob Hornby and only needed to be pushed out to win by a comfortable 2 lengths.

The well backed 6/5 fav has now finished in the prize-money in 6 of his 7 races this season.
