SOLDIER'S CALL X Mistress Makfi

A partnership we have done well with previously, purchasing Listed winner Fast Response from the Guineas breeze up in 2021. This filly did a piece of work at the Curragh at Lemos De Sousa onboard, Lemos had her at the top of all the horses he sat on (over 20) and he would be a very good judge of a horse, especially a 2yo given how many he will of sat on at Amy's. We agreed a private sale of £37,500 and would hope she works out to be great value.

- Pedigree - 

She is by first season sire, Soldier's Call, who stands at Ballyhane Stud for €7,500.

At the time of writing, Soldier's Call has had four two year old runners, one been our very own Indication Call, who ran in the Brocklesby for some experience. He probably should of had one winner on the board already in Lightening Army who came second at Dundalk and will win next time out. The mare Mistress Makfi is by Makfi who was a brilliant horse over a mile, he won the 2000 Guineas and the Jacques Le Marois to name but a few! This should bring about an interesting mix of precocious speed and 3yo stamina so we will probably look to start off over 6f.

This filly has blacktype in the family through a string of relatives that where trained by Dermot Weld. She qualifies for (IRE) incentives and this is something we may look to exploit if the right opportunity arises in the UK. Should see win an eligible maiden she would qualify for a bonus of €10,000.

- Amy Murphy - 

We have been very impressed with Amy & Lemos and had no hesitation to send them another 2yo to train. Amy has started the season in great form, she has already had a 2yo winner over in France in Myconian and we fully expect the team to have a very good few month's with their 2yo's given all the reports coming out of the yard.
