Shurut is a 2yo filly bought by George Boughey and Nick Bradley at the Tattersalls October HIT Sales on 25th October for 5,000 Guineas.

Sadly we lost His Highness Sheikh Hamdam bin Rashid Al Maktoum this year which has meant that the majority of his horses in training and breeding stock have been sold publicly including approximately 200 horses at this HIT Sale.

This filly was one George was very keen to secure as he had heard very good reports about her work. The daughter of Showcasing has been in training with Marcus Tregoning and has been working recently so is close to being ready to run.

She is a strong well put together filly who looks typical of her sire. She qualifies for the Great British Bonus which means her owners receive a bonus of £13,000 for every Maiden or Novice they win. Given we paid just 5,000 Guineas she feels very cheaply bought.

We plan to run her as soon as she is ready to run on the All weather and target the GB Bonus races with the plan to sell her in February. Historically the price of horses in the HIT sale rise from October to February. This is due to two factors:

1) Thousands of horses come onto the market in October and this is often too many for them all to reach their fair price. In February there is normally less than 300 in the sale.

2) The All weather programme gets very weak in the months of December and January as their is only a small percentage of the thoroughbred population still in full training at this time.
