SHALAA X TRAINNAH

This filly was purchased by Nick Bradley from the Arqana V2 Sale on the 17th August for 40,000 Euros. 

Nick had had a fruitless first three days of the sale with him progressively getting closer to buying our first yearling of the 2021 sales. By the fourth day of the sales alot of the agents and larger buyers had left town and it presented a far better opportunity for Nick to get involved.

Nick had a shortlist of around 16 fillies selling on the final day of the sale and this filly was towards the top of the list in terms of the fillies we were hoping to secure. 

She is an excellent physical and up there with the nicest 2yo filles in the entire sale. She is a good size standing around 15'2 to 15'3. She had been well prepped for the sale and was in great condition. She has a very strong action and is a very good looking filly. Nick was very keen to secure this filly and stretched from his original budget of 30,000 Euros to 40,000 to secure her. Federico Barberini underbid the filly, who Nick had to outbid to secure Simply Gorgeous at the 2020 sales.

When Nick returned to video the filly after she had been through the ring, her lead up girl was delighted Nick had bought her and described her as a queen with a great temperament who was awesome in the lunge ring.

She is the third foal out of the William Haggas trained mare Trainnah. On the track, Trainnah won twice and achieved an official rating of 87 from a short five race career. Her second foal by Ribchester ran 4th on debut at Longchamp in June in what looked a very competitive 6.5 furlong race.

She has an excellent pedigree being a sister to Group 2 winner James Garfield and from the family of Group 1 winners Uni, Invincible Spirit and Juddmonte winning Mishriff to pick out just a few names from the pedigree.

We expect this filly to debut in the middle of the 2022 season and be one who we start over 7 furlongs and she could end up racing over 8 to 10 furlongs.
