"Miss Roulette went upsides other 2yos twice last week as part of her continued education. Charlie likes what he is seeing at the moment and has her pencilled in to gallop for the first time on the weekend of 8th/9th May. We will have an idea on her ability from then onwards but the signs are positive at the moment."
This filly was bought by Nick Bradley and Mark and Charlie Johnston at Goffs Orby Sale in October 2019.
She is the fourth foal out of the Group 2 and Listed winning SEA OF HEARTBREAK who was trained by Roger Charlton to win at 2, 3 and 4 years of age and achieved a career high rating of 108.
SEA OF HEARTBREAK's only progeny to reach the track to date is the BORN TO SEA filly, RAINBOW HEART who was in training with William Haggas. She was beaten just over two lengths on debut by QABALA and went on to win on her second start at Newmarket by 8 lengths and was regarded as an Oaks filly going in to her 3yo career.
LOPE DE VEGA is a stallion who needs no introduction and has established himself as one of the leading stallion's in Europe. His success on the track has gone from strength to strength in recent years and at the time of writing he has sired 7 Group 1 winners.
Our filly is a strong well put together filly who isn't in the typical mould of a lot of the LOPE DE VEGA progeny. She looks more precocious than a lot of Lope's progeny and we would see her physically as a filly who will very much have a 2yo career before progressing as a 3yo. At this stage we would anticipate her starting off over 7 furlongs in the Summer and expect her to stay 10 furlongs and possibly further as a 3yo.
She qualifies for a Plus 10 £10,000 Bonus and is the type of filly that Nick and Mark do so well having teamed up with FRANKEL’S STORM to win over £50,000 in prize money in 2019 and by achieving blacktype with their first filly together.
This filly will have tremendous residual value and will be campaigned very much as a filly to aim at Listed and Group races.
She has 2A Scope and a clean set of X-rays.
"A strong, masculine daughter of LOPE DE VEGA out of a 108 rated Group 2 winner. The mares only runner to date is rated 95 and we were very pleased to secure this filly for just 48,000 Euros" - Mark Johnston
