This filly was bought by Richard Fahey and Nick Bradley at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sales in September 2019.
This filly is a strong, well put together filly who stood out as a physical in this yearling sale. She is very much a filly for the second half of her 2yo season and one who will train on as a 3yo for a step up in trip.
DARK ANGEL is a sire who needs no introduction to many shareholders, as most have tasted success with his progeny which has seen him rise from a 6,000 covering fee to 85,000 in 2019.
She is out of the 3yo winning mare CENTRED who is out of one of Ballymacoll's most established families. Rated 90, CENTRED won over 10 and 12 furlongs for Sir Michael Stoute and was a progressive 3yo. CENTRED has already bred a multiple winner by NORTH LIGHT and the SEA THE MOON 3yo is currently rated in the mid 70's having cost just £5,000.
CENTRED's 2yo by EXCEED AND EXCEL sold for 120,000 Euros at the Arqana Breeze Up in 2019, a sale which most breeze up vendors send their best 2yos. He was inside the top 50 on the day and Nick's notes described him as uncomplicated and having a good attitude. He was sold to race in Hong Kong.
Nick and Richard have teamed up with DARK ANGEL fillies with unrivalled success in recent years. LILY'S ANGEL was purchased by the pair for £6,000 as a yearling and went on to finish 6th in the 1,000 Guineas, as well as winning at Group 3 and Listed Level. Then followed REALTRA, who was bought for £10,000 and sold for £290,000 at the Ascot June Sale. Like LILY'S ANGEL, she won at Listed and Group level. VONA was picked up for 15,000 Euros, she won the Listed Marygate and was sold the following year for 140,000 Guineas. MELESINA was a £22,000 purchase, she won at Group 3 and Listed level as well and was sold for 400,000 Guineas at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale.
She has a Grade 1 throat as scoped by Peter Hynes of Yorkshire Equine Practice.
She carries a Plus 10 Bonus so qualifies for a £10,000 bonus if she were to win one of the qualifying races as a 2yo.
