The reports from Roger O Callaghan are very promising. Roger likes this filly a lot and thinks she has more ability than the filly Freyabella who was second on debut yesterday at Lingfield. We purchased Mas Poder from Roger at the Goffs Premier Yearling Sales at Doncaster on his recommendation and the early reports couldn't be better. Kevin Stott likes Mas Poder alot and thought she would have no problem winning a Maiden. She debuts at York on Friday in the Listed Marygate Stakes.
This filly was bought by Nick Bradley through the recommendation of Roger O’Callaghan at Tally Ho Stud. Nick asked Roger the director of Tally Ho if he had any fillies who were scheduled to go the Breeze Up Sales in the next four weeks that Nick could purchase privately and have them in training straight away rather than wait a month for the sale to conclude. Roger came back with this Galileo Gold filly out of Speed Freak.
This particular filly was due to be sold at the Tattersalls Goresbridge Sale on the 3rd June but Nick has thought it would be a good idea to secure the filly a few weeks before her sale date so that she can enter full training three weeks earlier.
Nick Bradley Racing has already had great success buying horses privately after Lucy Lulu won on debut at Doncaster on the 1st May and will now be targeted at Black Type races.
Our filly is out of the mare Speed Freak. Speed Freak is by Fastnet Rock who has already had a fantastic start to life as a broodmare sire with Group 1 winning sprinters Santa Ana Lane and Gytrash in Australia. When crossed with Galileo, Fastnet Rock has had huge amounts of success with the likes of Derby second favourite High Definition, Hampton Court Stakes winner Russian Emperor and Racing Post trophy placed Innisfree.
Whilst, Galileo Gold is by Paco Boy he is out of a mare by Galileo so there is definitely enough evidence to suggest that the potential cross could be successful.
Nick Bradley Racing have a couple of Galileo Gold fillies already and the reports on them have been positive. Whilst, Galileo Gold hasn’t quite had the 2yo winners yet some trainers are pointing out that their best Galileo Gold stock will be starting out over 6f. There is enough excitement behind Galileo Gold for us to be very hopeful about this filly.
George Boughey will train the filly. George is one of the rising stars of the training ranks. He has already had a fantastic start to 2021 with 7 winners from just 15 runners including Forca Brazil, Thunder Love, Beautiful Sunshine and Chester winner Navello. George also has 6 Galileo Gold’s in training and was particularly keen to have this filly after Nick raised the possibility of him training another Galileo Gold for Nick Bradley Racing.
