It's about this time that I start thinking about buying horses privately from the leading vendors in Ireland.  Tally Ho are in my opinion in a different league to the field when it comes to preparing horses for the breeze ups.  In 2021, I purchased two fillies from Tally Ho privately, one was 'Off the Page' who never raced for us as was plighted with injury and the second was 'Hellomydarlin' who finished the season rated 100 and picked up over £50,000 in prize money having placed in Stakes races on three occasions. Both were described by Roger as 'above average'.  

I spoke to Roger around a month ago to put the idea in his head about sourcing a 2yo filly from him and then revisited the conversation today. On both occasions he has picked out the same filly!

 I gave Roger the brief of selecting a horse who had an average pedigree but who was doing everything right on what he has seen to date. He identified that he still hasn't got his string of 2yos fully fit yet so he is guessing with an element of doubt in the equation. I know that if I ask him on April 1st, he would be able to pick out his favourite 3 fillies and probably be right by the end of the season with a high degree of accuracy.  

Looking back at the Tally Ho 2021 Goffs UK Breeze Up draft in 2021 they included Perfect Power, Maglev, Twilight Jet, Cotai Beauty, Freyabella, Parisiac and Mas Poder from an entire draft of 17 horses. This gives you an idea of the level of horses that Tally Ho produce year on year.  

This time last year Roger selected Freyabella when I discussed purchasing one from him aswell as the two fillies we purchased.  So the filly he has picked out this year is a Galileo Gold filly out of the mare Tahoo. Roger tells me at this stage in the horse's training she is doing everything right and on what he has seen to date she is well above average.  Roger added that her full sibling 'Galileo Glass', was not as impressive as she is at this stage in her training. Galileo Glass won twice as a 2yo. 

 I plan to send further 2yos to George Boughey, Karl Burke, Grant Tuer, Stuart Wiliams and Roger Fell. The monthly payments will depend on which trainer is selected but in line with our standard 2yo monthly payments in 2022. Monthly payments will begin on June 1st 2022.
