Racing Post - After Kempton Win
EVENING STORY, up in trip, was out the back and out of trouble when a number of her rivals were caught up in some scrimmaging at the first bend, but she saw her race out well and confirmed the promise she'd shown when a never-nearer fifth at Chelmsford over 1m2f (her first try beyond a mile) earlier this month. She'll remain open to improvement at this distance.
Timeform Comments
Flat: fairly useful performer: won minor event at Pontefract (by 1¾ lengths from Sheehan) in August: 9/1, improved when also won 14-runner handicap at Kempton last time by ¾ length from Typical Woman, eased near line: stays 11f: acts on polytrack, tapeta and good to firm going: sold from Daniel & Claire Kubler 23,000 gns later in October.
Evening Story has arrived at Grant's yard and Grant is very happy with how she looks and how she is moving.
She is perfectly sound and we will look to get her on the track sooner rather than later working from the programme shown below:

Our second purchase of the Tattersalls HIT sale was a 3yo filly, Evening Story who is a half sister to stakes placed Sweet Promise.
She came highly recommended by Hugh Taylor who flagged up her figures during her latest run at Kempton. Visually very impressive, she quickened up nicely off a generous gallop recording her best speed figures to date and the quickest final two furlongs in the race.
Kempton has been a difficult place for hold up horses to win from this season with many races showing a finishing percentage of 110%+.
When we spoke to the Kubler's, they were keen to retain the horse however the owner of the horse had a large intake of yearlings and therefore couldn't keep everything. They commented that she is likely to continue her good form on the all weather and she is well put together to handle plenty of racing.
Grant Tuer loved her and he has taken a large share, last year we teamed up with Grant to purchase Glorious Angel on the back of Hugh Taylor's recommendation so we have plenty of faith in this working out.
We were in the market for a 3yo filly to run over these distances, the spreadsheet below is a list of races she can run in upto Christmas, as you can see we have a large list of options mainly around Wolverhampton.
