Delicacy was bought from the Tattersalls September Sales in 2024 for 16,000 Guineas.
Delicacy came onto our radar in her most recent starts that she has had for the Hannon yard in 2024. Delicacy has been ridden differently in her last three starts and as a result her performances have taken a huge upward turn.
Working back from her latest start where she was a facile winner of a small race at Chepstow. She settled nicely in midfield and when pulled out for an effort she eased to the front under a hands and heels ride. She recorded the 2nd best sectional for the last two furlongs on the card that day of 22.78 only better by the Robert Cowell trained Lexington Blitz who heads for the Group 2 Flying Childers this week at Doncaster.
Prior to that she ran at Lingfield, where she ran in a Maiden over 7 furlongs, here she was held up last and despite the race being just a five runner race, the jockey found trouble at the bend and was a good 12 lengths off the pace turning in. She took off up the straight and recorded one of the quickest final 2 furlongs of the day.
Her run at Haydock was equally as impressive both visually and on the clock. Again held up, she sat last going around the bend in what was a very slowly run race. She picked up eye-catchingly up the straight and stayed on to finish 3rd from the rear and again ran her final 2 furlongs in a very good time of 23.25. This was the fastest final 2 furlongs on the racecard that day which included the Listed Dick Hern Fillies race over a mile and every race on the day was worth over £10,000 to the winner.
We believe that this filly has improved significantly in her last three starts and that is probably due to the tactics employed and her maturing into a filly who now settles in her races.
We plan to aim her at the All Weather Championships and particularly the northern tapeta tracks of Newcastle, Southwell and Wolverhampton.
Hugh Taylor was instrumental in buying this filly and flagged up the success progeny of Saxon Warrior has had on the tapeta in recent years. Given the way Southwell and Newcastle have been riding in the last 18 months, we feel that this filly is perfect for the All Weather Championships.
We plan to campaign her over 7 furlongs and in Fillies only races where possible.
The All Weather Championships starts on October 22nd and runs up until the Finals Day which is scheduled to be run at Newcastle on Good Friday.
The rules can be viewed the link below, but in short, horses earn points for their first 3 runs in each month for finishing in the first 5.

There are plenty of options for our filly and to feature on the Leaderboard you need to have scope to run throughout the season. There are races up to the 0-90 bracket so that means she can progress through the handicap system up to 92 and still have options available to her.
I have attached her potential races for the rest of 2024, as you can see there are plenty of options!
We have sent her to Roger Fell who has done a great job with Petra Celera who has won two of her last three starts and has a similar profile for the All Weather Championships.
