CONSTITUTION

- Lot 249 - 

An intriguing addition to NBR ranks was this 2yo from Andrew Balding's yard, costing £18k. Consigned on behalf of the Kings consort, Constitution has only run the twice with a run at both ends of the scale. His debut run at Newbury was on good to soft ground over an extended 6 furlongs and he was second in-between two horses who are now rated 110 and 103! Andrew Balding was very keen on the horse at the start of the season and gave glowing reviews in his stable tour. However, on the horse's second run at Ffos Las over 6f, the run was too bad to be true and he was virtually pulled up beaten around 12lengths.

We expected to pay a little more consider the strength of that debut run and the reports are the horse is sound despite no explanation for the Ffos Las performance.

Jamie Osborne was more than happy with the horse when viewing him at the sales and is delighted to add him to the stable where he has done well with Raising Sand.

By Churchill you can expect Constitution to improve as a 3yo given Churchill was a dual winner of the guineas added to the fact the Dam's sire Paco Boy is another who's progeny progress with time. You'd also expect a move up to 7f would not inconvenience Constitution.
