nick's thoughts

- Lot 1153 -

An absolute bargain at £25k, he's rated 87 on the flat and 131 over hurdles. Winner of a big pot at Galway in a flat race and a staying on 5th in the 202 Boodles hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, he clearly loves undulating tracks, and he opens up so many options for connections. We'll start over hurdles during the winter, there's a 0-140 at Cheltenham in December followed by a two-mile handicap on Trial weekend in January. From here we'll get a sense of his handicap mark and see what may bring further improvements.

- Pedigree -

On the whole a flat pedigree, the dam was a handicapper over middle distances and has bred the fairly useful Rythmique from a small crop of horses. The dam Free Eagle won the Prince of Wales Stakes over 10f at 3 and was placed in a Champions Stakes.

Coltor would be about the best dual purpose horse Free Eagle has produced although he has sired Beauty Smile who amassed over half a million in prize money mainly in Hong Kong.
