This was Nick’s 2nd purchase at the sale and from a consignor that Nick hadn’t dealt with in the past. A nice filly, again a little bit light of bone, but a good mover with a very athletic build. She breezed in 10.8 and then 10.6, progressively increasing her speed as the breeze went on. Nick see’s her as a 6/7f filly at the sharpest probably ending up around 8f.   

Her mare has in fact been covered by Awtaad before, but people shouldn’t look at the outcome of that mating and think it will be the same fate with this horse. That’s not how it works. If we look at Dandalla and her dam, who had previously already been covered by Dandy Man and produced a 50 rated colt whereas Dandalla was rated 106 at her peak. It can work very different ways.   

Her full sibling also went through the breeze ups, Nick looked him up and he was around 90th fastest at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Ups last year. This filly is a completely different animal, as this one was certainly one of the sharper ones at the sale. He required a wind surgery early in career, and this filly has passed her wind test no problem.   

Nick paid €6,000, which he saw as an absolute steal, Nick would have comfortably paid 3x/4x what he paid for her. She will join Roger Fell, who has been doing well with our 2yos. Most recently winning the Spindrifter Stakes with Shandy Star!  

The vendor phoned Nick after the sale and let him know that she had only been in preparation for only 5 weeks. Which Nick sees as a huge positive as there should be a lot more to come then what Nick saw in the breeze today and he is already impressed! General breeze up prep is around 16 weeks, which shows real promising talent!   

Nick is over the moon to have secured her, an absolute no brainer!
