This filly was purchased by Nick Bradley from the Arqana V2 Sale on the 17th August for 23,000 Euros.
Nick had had a fruitless first three days of the sale with him progressively getting closer to buying our first yearling of the 2021 sales. By the fourth day of the sales alot of the agents and larger buyers had left town and it presented a far better opportunity for Nick to get involved.
This filly was a 7,000 Euros foal purchase by a young man who was involved in the Haras de Capucines consignment. She is a shade small standing at 15 to 15'1 hands. She is a strong filly who looks every inch a 2yo, she has an excellent action and with a fluid movement. She is a great shape and looks like a precocious 2yo.
She was wearing a bandage at the yearling sales as she suffered a superficial cut whilst in transport.
The vendor made Nick aware that she had been suffering from an abscess in her neck throughout her prep for the sale. In Nick's opinion when horses suffer from abscesses they tend to lose their appetite and as a result don't really thrive physically which means that the filly should improve over the next couple of months.
This filly is by the Coolmore U.S. stallion Air Force Blue who was 2nd at Royal Ascot in the Group 2 Coventry. He won the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes over 6 furlongs and then the Group 1 National Stakes and Group 1 Dewhurst over 7 furlongs.
Her dam was a three time winner, twice as a 2yo. She won a $150,000 Blacktype race at 2 in Delta Downs, Louisiana.
We have done very well at Nick Bradley Racing buying excellent physical fillies by unfashionable stallions and this filly very much fits into that category. We expect this filly to be ready to run over 6 furlongs as a 2yo and then progress to stay 7 furlongs and possibly further.
George Boughey was given the choice of the three 2yos bought at the Arqana sale who have travelled to the UK. After watching the videos and studying the pedigrees George selected this filly to train as he felt that she looked sharp and likely to debut early in her 2yo season.
Nick Bradley Racing and George Boughey have teamed up with the likes of Listed winning, Oaks second Mystery Angel and Group 3 winning 2yo Oscula in 2021. The combination has also produced the likes of Corazon and Hellomydarlin who are both high level 2yos who have and will take their owners racing at the highest level.
